Finishings,surface treatments and mechanical workings

For the finishings of our product, we do have an internal department, which performs the following activities:
- SHOTBLASTING: the aim of this process is to eliminate burrs and spots from the castings and level the surface out, so that it will present a certain surface roughness and will be ready for the next treatments (in particular, the painting). For this process we make use of a rubber belt shotblasting machine. The pieces, rolling in bulk, are hit by iron balls launched by a shotblasting wheel.
- VIBRATION: the aim of this process is to eliminate burrs and spots from the castings and level the surface out, obtaining a very thin roughness and preparing the surface itself for the next treatments (in particular, galvanic treatments, such as zinc-coating, nickel plating, chromium plating and others). For this process we make us of different types of vibrators, where we load the castings together with ceramic or plastic granulars and a stripping agent. The vibrator creates a spiral movement, which causes a rubbing among castings and granulars, so as to obtain the deburring and a uniform surface.
Concerning mechanical workings and surface treatments (such as painting and galvanic treatments) Garmetal relies on a network of partners, with whom it has developed a long-standing cooperation.
