Environmental commitment and sustainability
For Garmetal working in a sustainable manner, not only means to respect the balance of nature, but also to protect the health and safety of people. This translates into a concrete commitment both from the environmental and ethical points of view.

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
Surrounded by a green park, our Company pays great attention to the environment and the sustainability. In 2003 Garmetal has been the second foundry in Italy to obtain the UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 certification.
The certification has the aim to guarantee a constant monitoring of the production cycle and the environmental impacts, the reduction of scraps from technological cycle and the energy and water consumption. Garmetal makes use of new technologies for the treatment of emissions in the atmosphere, the water and the acoustic pollution.
The Company has a system to treat wastewater, to minimize scraps and reach the zero waste goal. By means of a chemical-physical installation, Garmetal can completely recycle the emulsion of lubricating water used during the die-casting process. In the same way, we have another chemical-physical installation to divide water – used in the vibration process – from impurities.
This circular approach reflects the essence of the foundry and it allows the Company to reduce consumption in water, which is one of the most precious resource.

ETHICAL SUSTAINABILITY
The commitment of the Company translates into the adoption of an ethical code and in the achievement of the Gold Medal by EcoVadis, which evaluates the impact of Companies in terms of sustainability and on the basis of concrete results.
The score obtained from the EcoVadis evaluation, set Garmetal among the best 5% of Italian foundries.
